The greatest muscle activity happens in dynamic exercise such as jumping. The Plyo Press is much more effective than other lower-extremity-strengthening exercises such as squats and leg press devices like the hip sled because it not only provides the standard press movement but also allows the dynamic movement of jumping.
Equally important, the Plyo Press eliminates the hazards of those exercises. Because the load can be controlled, the Plyo Press allows the safest possible training to occur without stressing the lower back or knee joints. This feature allows injured athletes the opportunity to start their rehabilitation and range of motion exercises before they are fully weight bearing.
Our program employs the Plyo Press for single-leg exercises that offer the greatest strengthening and for double-leg exercises that build strength and quickness.
